A few topics in today’s email:
- Fluid retention – and what to do about it
- The Ultra Lite Endermologie competition
- Unlimited IPL-Laser hair removal special.
What does this mean and what can you do about it?
Fluid can accumulate in intercellular spaces, particularly in the thighs and abdomen, giving you a puckered, bloated appearance.
What you can do about it at home:
Start by addressing your diet. Fluid is held in the muscles in association with carbohydrates. Cutting down on the carbs can help with the condition. Other dietary reasons for fluid retention include low protein intake or deficiency in B vitamins.
What did you have for breakfast this morning?
If you would like an alternative to bread, check out the low carb Cloud Bread recipe at the bottom of the email. Great for packed lunches.
Next, try an Epsom salts bath. Magnesium in Epsom salts may help to draw the retained fluid. Pour a capful of crystals into a warm bath tonight.
Whilst you are in the bathroom, have a go at body brushing. The idea is to move the fluid that sits just under the skin using a bristle brush. Start at your toes, and sweep up towards the heart. Use a gentle yet firm movement rather than a deep, rough stroke.
What we can do about fluid retention in the clinic
Viva Wellness offers a very successful treatment for fluid retention, Lipomassage by Endermologie.
Using the drainage procedure, we can help to collect and mobilise the stubborn fluid that has been giving you that puckered skin.
We work on both the affected area and on the lymph nodes. Venous and lymphatic circulation is stimulated for a number of hours.
The treatment is very comfortable and relaxing and we see excellent results with this procedure.
